Antimicrobial Remediation Treatment and the Novel Corona Virus

IAC Moldbusters understands that we are facing unprecedented time filled with concern for the health and safety of not only ourselves, but for those around us.

We offer Antimicrobial Remediation Treatments for restaurants, schools, nursing homes, libraries, or any other business or home.

To confirm procedures used for sanitizing surfaces are effective, we test the sanitized surfaces for bacteria.  Although we cannot test for viruses specifically, knowing that sanitized surfaces have no bacteria present can be an indication that there is a small likelihood that other microorganisms could remain viable. We generally receive results within 2-4 days.

IAC Moldbusters antimicrobial sanitizing remediation protocol is as follows:

  • Entry Protocol – Our workers entering and exiting any work area all wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, goggles and protective clothing and boots for the duration of the sanitizing project.
  • Containment Process – We build a containment area by sealing off all openings, including but not limited to corridors, doorways, skylights, duct, grill, and / or diffuser openings. The containment area is now ready for cleaning* and disinfecting**.
  • HEPA Filtered Negative Air Machines/Air Scrubber Process – these devices are used to remove air containments. The air is pulled into the machine and passes through a series of three (3) filters. The primary filter is typically made of filter media, a secondary filter is generally made of pleated paper filter media, and the tertiary filter is the HEPA filter.
  • HEPA Filtered Vacuum Process – these HEPA filtered vacuums are used to vacuum debris, surface bacteria and for other tasks where control of airborne contaminates are necessary.  All areas, including floors, walls, ceilings, contents, and other applicable areas are HEPA vacuumed.
  • Micro Phase / Bio Wash/ Disinfectant Process – After all surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed, all required areas are treated with an EPA registered organic disinfectant that will immediately stop and eliminate biological growth. This organic disinfectant will be applied with a ULV Fogger. Typical application areas include
    • floors
    • walls
    • ceilings
    • bathrooms
    • tables
    • counters
    • food contact surfaces and contents
  • High-Touch Area Focus – For bio-washing/disinfecting, the focus will be on high-touch objects – door knobs, door handles and push plates, railings, light and air control switches, faucets, toilet flush levers and restrooms.

* Cleaning refers to the removal of dirt and impurities, including germs, from surfaces.Cleaning alone does not kill germs. However, by removing germs, cleaning decreases their number and therefore reduces the risk of spreading infection.

** Disinfecting works by using organic disinfectants to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs. However, killing germs that remain on a surface after cleaning further reduces the risk of spreading infection.
